Governor Aiyedatiwa Receives Resounding Endorsement from Akoko South West Traditional Rulers and Leaders Ahead of Ondo Election.

On Saturday, the Ondo State Governor and APC gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, continued his campaign in Akoko South West, receiving significant support from the area’s traditional leaders.

In a gathering at the Palace of the Olubaka of Oka Land, Oba (Dr) Yusuf Adebori Adeleye voiced the united endorsement of the region's traditional rulers for Governor Aiyedatiwa. Speaking on behalf of the council, Oba Adeleye declared, "The Council of Obas has decided—Governor Aiyedatiwa is our candidate. We stand together in support of your election."

Oba Adeleye acknowledged Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to the traditional institution, highlighting a landmark achievement. "Since 1999, we have advocated for 5% of local government funds for traditional institutions, but it was Governor Aiyedatiwa who turned this promise into reality," he said, applauding the governor’s dedication to their welfare. The monarch also expressed gratitude for Aiyedatiwa’s appointments of Akoko South West locals to key government positions, praising his recognition of the community’s contributions.

Prominent community leader and Afenifere member, Bashorun Sehinde Arogbofa, also extended support, affirming Afenifere's endorsement of the governor. "The Afenifere stands firmly behind your mandate. You have shown promise and leadership, and we are confident in your ability to lead Ondo State to greater heights," Arogbofa stated, urging Governor Aiyedatiwa to emulate the legacy of the late Chief Adekunle Ajasin, Ondo State’s first executive governor.

In his response, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude for the community's unwavering support, pledging to honor their trust. "Your confidence strengthens my resolve to serve with even greater commitment. My vision aligns with the aspirations of our people, and I am dedicated to building a legacy of growth and unity," he stated.

During the event, Governor Aiyedatiwa appointed Oba Stephen Oloruntele Ogunoye as the new Olusi of Owalusi, reinforcing his commitment to the traditional institution. Addressing supporters in Oka Akoko, he outlined his dedication to policies aimed at enhancing healthcare, education, job opportunities, and infrastructure, promising responsive and compassionate governance.

Prince Ademola Adetokunbo, Senior Special Assistant on Tourism to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, highlighted the positive impacts of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s initiatives on Ondo State’s infrastructure and local economy. Hon. Adegboyega Adefarati, representing Akoko South West and Akoko South East in the House of Representatives, echoed the call for robust support, urging constituents to vote in large numbers for Governor Aiyedatiwa on November 16.
