ONIGBONGBO LCDA, WATER AID NIGERIA LTD, AND CUMMINS WEST AFRICA LTD, JOIN FORCES TO TRANSFORM OREGUN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL’S WASH FACILITIES

In a grandbreaking ceremony , Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area under the leadership of Barr Rekiyah Olufunke Hassan partnered with Water Aid Nigeria Ltd, and Cummins West Africa Ltd on Tuesday 25th of February to commission and handover newly constructed, rehabilitation, and upgraded water sanitation, and hygiene facilities at Oregun Junior High School.

The upgraded wash facilities mark a significant improvement in the school’s infrastructure , providing students and teachers with access to

(1) New modern facilities for both female and male students.

(2) Clean water supply systems.

(3) Handwashing stations with soap and water

(4) Rehabilitation and upgraded sanitation facilities.

This transformation will have a profound impact on the health , well being , and academic performance of over 1,000 students.

The collaboration between Onigbongbo LCDA, Water Aid Nigeria Ltd, and Cummins West Africa Ltd demonstrates the power of public private partnerships in driving positive goal. The council chairperson Barr Rekiyah Olufunke Hassan in her speech praised ther patnership, saying “Today, we celebrate a significant milestone in our efforts to improve the lives of our children , we are grateful for the support of Water Aid Nigeria Ltd ,and Cummins West Africa Ltd .”They are not just investing on the children, but the community. She added.

The MD Water Aid Nigeria Ltd Mr Mike Oni Okeke in his own speech urge the school authorities to always allow the students to make use of the facilities while advised the state government to replicate this idea of collaboration.

The Managin Director Cummins West Africa Ltd Mrs Evelyn Mere reiterated their commitment to improving access to wash facilities in Nigeria , emphasizing the importance of collaboration efforts in achieving this goal

The commissioning of the upgraded wash facilities at Oregun Junior High School marks a new chapter in the school’s history.
