Ajiran Murder Trial: Lagos High Court Adjourns Case to November 10

The Lagos State High Court, Igbosere, has adjourned the trial of the principal suspect in the alleged murder of two prominent sons of the Ajiran Community in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The case, which came up for hearing at Court 8 before Justice Abdul-Raheem Muyideen, was adjourned following concerns raised by the court over certain outstanding requirements the prosecution must fulfil before the trial can proceed.
Recall that during proceedings in June and July, the court had fixed November 3, 5, 9 and 10 for the commencement and continuation of the trial.

However, following the need for the prosecution to address some of the outstanding issues identified by the court, Justice Muyideen deemed it necessary to vacate the earlier scheduled dates and fix fresh dates for further proceedings.

Consequently, the court adjourned the matter to November 10, 19 and 25.

The case centres on the alleged killing of two prominent members of the Ajiran Community, an incident that has generated considerable concern and attracted widespread attention within the community and beyond.

The adjourned dates are expected to provide an opportunity for the prosecution to fulfil the court’s requirements and pave the way for further proceedings in the trial.
