The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has received two ambulifts for deployment at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos to improve accessibility for passengers with reduced mobility.
FAAN announced the development in a statement shared on its official X account on Thursday.
The authority said the ambulifts would assist passengers who require additional support when boarding or disembarking from aircraft, helping to ensure safer and more dignified movement through the airport.
The keys to the two ambulifts were formally handed over to NACHO Aviation Services by FAAN’s Director of Airport Operations, Captain Abdullahi Mahmood, who will oversee their deployment and operation at the airport.
FAAN said the initiative forms part of its efforts to strengthen passenger facilitation services and improve the overall travel experience.
The authority added that the equipment would help ensure passengers with mobility limitations receive the necessary support throughout their journey.
