The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has lauded Muslim faithful in Nigeria and across the world for their steadfast devotion, discipline, and sacrifice during the 30-day Ramadan fast.
In a goodwill message marking the Eid el-Fitr celebration, Ogundoyin described Ramadan as a period of deep spiritual reflection, self-denial, and renewed commitment to Allah. He said the successful completion of the fast underscores the resilience and strong faith of the Muslim Ummah.
The Speaker commended the virtues of patience, compassion, generosity, and unity demonstrated throughout the holy month, noting that such values are vital for promoting peace and social harmony.
He urged Muslims to uphold these virtues beyond Ramadan, allowing them to shape their daily interactions and contributions to national development.
Ogundoyin also emphasized the need to support the less privileged, stressing that the spirit of giving associated with Ramadan should be sustained even after the fasting period.
While congratulating Muslims on the Eid celebration, he called on Nigerians to continue to embrace tolerance, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Oyo State House of Assembly to enacting people-oriented legislation aimed at improving the welfare of all citizens, regardless of their backgrounds.
Ogundoyin further prayed for the acceptance of the fasting, prayers, and supplications offered during Ramadan, and for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Oyo State and the country.
