The Lion Golding Club Egbeda, Lagos, District 404B3, Nigeria, recently hosted its Investiture Ceremony to confirm the third president of the club, who is also its first female president, and install other club officers. Additionally, the club demonstrated its commitment to community empowerment by providing five individuals with grading machines.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Investiture Committee, Lion Oluwafemi Afolabi, expressed his joy at the successful organization of the event. “It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to this momentous occasion of the investiture and installation of the first female and third president of our club,” he said.

Afolabi acknowledged the challenges faced in planning the event but commended the resilience and dedication of all those involved. He expressed his gratitude to the committee members, the board of trustees, and all club members for their sacrifices, which contributed to the success of the occasion.

In her inaugural speech, the newly installed president, Lion Fsdahunsi Toyin, expressed her pride and joy in being the first female president of the Lagos Egbeda Golden Lion Club. “It is indeed a great honour to stand before you today as the first female president of our club,” she remarked.

She emphasized the significance of the occasion, not only as a celebration of the club’s achievements but also as a reaffirmation of their commitment to the core global causes championed by Lions International.

Lion Fsdahunsi reflected on the journey of the club, acknowledging the challenges encountered and overcome through resilience, determination, and impactful collaborations with the district and other humanitarian organizations.

Over the years, she highlighted, the club has been engaged in numerous impactful activities. She used the opportunity to call upon all members—donors, volunteers, policymakers, and partners alike—to lend their voices, ideas, and unwavering support to amplify the club’s impact and reach. “Together, we can make a greater difference and touch the lives of those who need us most,” she affirmed.

She further pledged the club’s commitment to scaling up its efforts, deepening its impact, and staying true to its mission. “We will invest to address humanitarian needs within our community and raise the banner of Lionism even higher. Let us dream big, act boldly, and contribute generously to this noble cause,” she urged.

In his goodwill message, the Chairman of the Day, Dr. Rev. Tunde Kajogbala, called for unity and peace among club members, emphasizing that such harmony is essential for the club to achieve even greater milestones.
