Adesuyi Daramola Says Conference Will Give Nigerian Youths Greater Voice in Nation-Building<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The APC South-West Youth Leader, Adesuyi Daramola, has commended the Federal Government for its initiative to convene the National Youth Conference 2026, describing it as a timely and strategic platform for empowering young Nigerians to contribute meaningfully to national development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Daramola said the conference, being convened under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, demonstrates the Federal Government\u2019s commitment to giving Nigerian youths a stronger voice in policy formulation and the future of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The National Youth Conference, coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, is scheduled to take place in October and will bring together young Nigerians from across the country and the diaspora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the programme outline, the conference will focus on key areas including governance and political participation, economic transformation and job creation, education and skills development, technology and digital transformation, climate change and energy transition, as well as social cohesion and security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Daramola noted that the decision to have representation from Nigeria\u2019s 360 federal constituencies, alongside diaspora delegates, stakeholders and observers, would promote wider grassroots participation and ensure that diverse youth perspectives are captured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He urged young Nigerians to take advantage of the consultation and registration process by submitting practical ideas and policy proposals that can contribute to solving the challenges confronting the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\u201cThis is more than a conference; it is an opportunity for Nigerian youths to take ownership of their future, contribute ideas and become active partners in nation-building,\u201d Daramola said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
He particularly commended the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, and the planning committee for designing a process centred on youth ownership, inclusivity, transparency, innovation and accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Daramola expressed optimism that the recommendations emerging from the conference would translate into concrete policies and programmes that improve opportunities for Nigerian youths and strengthen their participation in national development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
