A governorship aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti State, Apostle Ayodele David-Adesua, has condemned the attack and burning of the party\u2019s newly established state secretariat in Ado Ekiti, describing it as a \u201cdesperate act of political cowardice and intimidation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
David-Adesua, in a statement issued on Wednesday, said the incident, which occurred on Tuesday, was an attempt to disrupt the inauguration of ADC executives across the state. Hoodlums were reported to have vandalised properties and attacked party members during the assault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis attack is not merely against a building, but against the democratic will of Ekiti people who seek freedom from tyranny and misrule,\u201d David-Adesua stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He vowed that the party would not be intimidated or deterred by acts of violence, saying the ADC remained committed to its mission to \u201cRescue, Rebuild, and Rise\u201d stronger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLet it be clear \u2014 no amount of destruction or deceit will break our resolve. From these ashes, we shall rebuild and restore the dignity of our people. We will confront corruption with courage, tyranny with truth, and fear with faith,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ADC aspirant further described the party\u2019s movement as \u201cpeople-driven, unstoppable, and divinely anchored,\u201d<\/em> assuring supporters that the attack would only strengthen their resolve to reclaim Ekiti\u2019s destiny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Also reacting, former Minister of Interior and ADC National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, who was in Ekiti for the inauguration, condemned the incident, calling it \u201ca shameful display of intolerance and a dangerous threat to democracy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt is regrettable that individuals who emerged through the democratic process can resort to violence and intimidation to suppress opposition voices.
