As party primaries heat up in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, a suspicious audio clip circulating on social media, allegedly implicating beloved aspirant Hon. Shupo Olowe (popularly known as SP), has been exposed as fake—an AI-generated fabrication strategically released to manipulate public perception and derail democratic proceedings.

Initial analysis and expert audio forensics suggest that the voice in the three-minute clip was artificially generated using AI voice-cloning technology, lacking the acoustic continuity and emotional resonance of a naturally recorded human voice. The clip, which attempts to portray Hon. SP in compromising political statements, is now widely regarded as a desperate ploy to discredit him.

Credible party insiders and local stakeholders have pointed fingers at the current LCDA Chairman, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, and his political associates as the shadow actors behind the smear campaign. Observers believe this to be part of a broader strategy by the embattled chairman to retain influence despite growing public discontent.

“This is not just fake news; it’s digitally engineered slander,” said a senior APC youth leader from Ward F. “SP has always stood for transparency, grassroots representation, and the rule of law. He’s a man of the people and a symbol of our hope for better governance.”

This incident is not isolated. Analysts now question whether this audio scandal forms part of a larger pattern of political desperation by Dele Oshinowo, who has come under intense fire in recent months. The controversial demolitions of the historic Yoruba stronghold, Owode-Onirin Spare Parts Market—a longtime bastion of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s support base—and the razing of the ancient Odogun community have raised alarms.

Could this be the chairman’s long-running plan to undermine key political figures aligned with Tinubu? Could his actions be weakening APC’s base ahead of the 2027 elections?

Ironically, a recent outburst from Oshinowo’s own media aide—warning that Tinubu may lose Lagos in 2027 due to internal sabotage—has only deepened suspicions. The aide’s comment, which many interpreted as a reflection of the chairman’s views, aligns disturbingly with the same tactics now allegedly deployed against Hon. SP.

Despite the attempts to soil his image, Hon. SP remains unfazed. In a brief address, he reaffirmed his belief in “a free and fair primary election guided by justice and the will of the people.”

He continued, “Our politics should uplift, not destroy. I stand for truth, for progress, and for every resident of Agboyi-Ketu.”

As the primaries proceed, party members and residents alike are calling for accountability, truth, and an end to political manipulation. Many are now demanding that APC leadership investigate the audio clip, sanction those responsible, and reaffirm its commitment to democratic integrity.

If Dele Oshinowo truly believes in the ideals of the party he claims to represent, the people say, he must stop the lies—and face the people he has long ignored.
