NAGAFF Headquarters Gets a Facelift as Deputy National President Donates Furniture

The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has taken a significant step towards upgrading its headquarters, following a generous donation by its Deputy National President, Dr. Segun Musa. In a bid to accommodate the growing number of members, particularly young freight forwarders, Dr. Musa has donated 50 chairs and 15 tables to enhance the functionality of the association’s administrative centre.

The move comes amidst a surge in membership within the Western Zone, which now boasts over 5,000 registered members across Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, and Kogi states. The donation is seen as a timely intervention to support the association’s growing operations and to improve working conditions at the headquarters.

In addition to Dr. Musa’s donation, other prominent stakeholders have stepped forward to contribute to the ongoing revitalization efforts. Chief Amuluonyenago Abateghete has committed to restructuring and upgrading the two public toilets at the headquarters, while the Deputy National President in charge of Seaports has pledged to fuel and provide a part-time driver for the newly donated bus by the President for a one-year period.

Adding to the celebratory mood, Princess Chi Eze is organizing an all-night party in honour of the President, who recently donated a N40 million bus to the association. The event is expected to attract key members and supporters of NAGAFF as they celebrate the strides being made under the current leadership.

These collective efforts highlight the growing momentum of NAGAFF, which has emerged as Nigeria’s largest freight forwarding association. However, despite these achievements, the association remains focused on the ambitious completion of its N500 million national secretariat project—a key priority in its long-term development plan.

NAGAFF has also extended appreciation to past allies, notably the late Comptroller General of Customs, Dikko Inde, for his support in aiding the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) in establishing their national secretariat. The association has expressed hope that the current Comptroller General will follow in his predecessor’s footsteps under corporate social responsibility initiatives.

As a non-profit entity, NAGAFF is seeking greater collaboration with key port stakeholders, including the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Nigerian Shippers’ Council, and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON). Such partnerships, the association believes, will bolster port efficiency and development.

With its members playing a critical role in customs duty collection and international trade facilitation, NAGAFF remains strategically positioned to drive meaningful growth in Nigeria’s import and export sectors.
