Rotary District 9111 has unveiled plans for its 2025 Awareness Day celebration, urging all members to actively engage in the various activities lined up for the occasion. This was disclosed during a press conference held today at the Rotary Centre, GRA Ikeja.
While addressing journalists, Past President and Chairman of the 2025 Rotary Information and Awareness Committee for District 9111, Mr. Henry Akinbobola, reaffirmed the enduring relevance of Rotary International as a beacon of hope and humanity in an ever-changing world. He emphasized that Rotary’s mission is to unite business and professional leaders in the provision of humanitarian service.
“Rotary clubs encourage the promotion of ethical standards in all vocations and are steadfast in advancing goodwill and peace globally,” Mr. Akinbobola stated.
He elaborated on the transformative role Rotary plays, describing its clubs worldwide as powerful agents for lasting change within communities and individuals.
“This change is anchored in our commitment to seven key areas of focus:
- Promoting peace in society.
- Combating diseases, including the eradication of polio.
- Ensuring access to clean water and sanitation.
- Enhancing maternal and child health.
- Supporting education to empower future generations.
- Advancing local economies through sustainable development.
- Protecting the environment to safeguard our planet for future generations.”
Mr. Akinbobola called on all members to take an active role in the celebration, particularly by visiting the project exhibition stands and sections where clubs will showcase impactful projects executed over the past six months.
“These initiatives stand as a testament to the power of Rotary’s collective efforts and the profound impact we continue to make within our communities,” he added.
