President Tinubu Turns 74 as APC Chairman Yilwatda Applauds Leadership
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of his 74th birthday, describing him as a central figure in Nigeria’s democratic evolution and a leader shaping a new national direction.
In a statement released on behalf of the party’s National Working Committee, leaders, stakeholders, and supporters across Nigeria and the diaspora, Yilwatda said the President’s birthday presents an opportunity not only for celebration but also for reflection on what he described as a lifetime of service, resilience, and commitment to nation-building.
He noted that President Tinubu’s political journey—from his role in the democratic struggle to his tenure as Governor of Lagos State and now as President—has been marked by strategic leadership and a consistent focus on national development. According to him, the President has demonstrated qualities of a reformer, patriot, and bridge-builder, placing national interest above personal considerations.
The APC chairman stated that since assuming office, President Tinubu has led what he described as a decisive phase of governance, introducing reforms aimed at addressing long-standing structural challenges within Nigeria’s economy and public institutions. He said the administration has shown willingness to take difficult decisions to reposition the country for long-term stability and growth.
Yilwatda highlighted ongoing efforts by the administration to stabilize the economy, restore investor confidence, strengthen fiscal discipline, and expand infrastructure development. He added that reforms across key sectors, alongside social intervention programmes, are designed to promote inclusive growth and improve the overall business environment.
He further emphasized the government’s focus on improving livelihoods through policies targeting agriculture, industry, energy security, education, and healthcare, as well as youth empowerment and digital innovation. He described these initiatives as part of a broader strategy to build a more resilient and competitive economy.
On national unity and security, the APC chairman said the administration remains committed to strengthening stability and fostering a sense of shared purpose among Nigerians.
While acknowledging that reforms may bring short-term challenges, Yilwatda expressed confidence that current policies would yield long-term benefits for the country. He reaffirmed the party’s support for the President’s leadership and reform agenda.
He also offered prayers for continued strength, wisdom, and good health for President Tinubu, expressing optimism about Nigeria’s future under his leadership.
