Oyo Assembly Service Commission Chairman Presents Annual Report, Pledges Improved Performance

Hon. Okedoyin gave the assurance during an interview with journalists shortly after presenting the 2025 Annual Report of the Commission at a plenary session of the Oyo State House of Assembly. The session was presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin. According to the Chairman, the Commission has recorded significant progress over the past year, with reforms and interventions that have positively impacted various departments within the State Assembly, aimed at boosting productivity and operational efficiency. He explained that the Commission is statutorily responsible for overseeing the welfare and administration of legislative staff, making continuous personnel development a key priority.
“Under my leadership, the Commission has remained committed to building a strong, ethical, and professional legislative service that supports effective lawmaking. Our goal is to ensure that the Oyo State House of Assembly ranks among the best legislative institutions in Nigeria – not only in policy outcomes but also in service delivery, administrative structure, and staff capacity. I am pleased to report that significant strides have been made towards achieving this,” Hon. Okedoyin stated.

The Chairman disclosed that staff of the Commission benefited from several capacity-building programmes, including trainings, seminars, and workshops designed to enhance skills, efficiency, and understanding of legislative processes. He noted that these interventions have led to improved individual performance and strengthened the institutional capacity of the Commission.
Hon. Okedoyin further emphasized that staff welfare remains a top priority, adding that efforts have been made to improve working conditions and ensure the timely payment of entitlements. He revealed that approvals for transfer of service and staff conversion were granted during the period under review, underscoring the Commission’s commitment to career progression and professional growth across all cadres.

While expressing appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde, Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin, and members of the Oyo State House of Assembly for their consistent support, the Chairman also commended the four Commissioners of the Service Commission for their teamwork and dedication, which he said contributed significantly to the achievements recorded within a short period.
