Sponsor and former Lagos State Handball Association Chairperson, Mrs. Adeola Opeifa, said the tournament has helped produce several players who have represented Nigeria at junior and senior levels.

“This initiative has changed lives. Some players were picked from the streets and brought back to school; today, they are thriving,” Opeifa said.

Coach Daniel Yohanna praised the players’ performances, describing the competition as a breeding ground for future stars.

Participating schools include Whitesand, Herbert Macaulay, Ijaye, Igbobi, Ransome Kuti, Gaskiya, Aje, Ikeja, and Okesuna. The championship, which began on October 27, will conclude on October 31.
