LAGOS — Hon. Prince Seyi Lawal, the Lagos State House of Assembly Member representing Ikeja Constituency 1, has restated his unwavering commitment to inclusive governance and grassroots development, with a firm pledge to prioritize the needs of the vulnerable within his constituency.
The lawmaker made this declaration on Thursday during the 10th edition of the Lagos State House of Assembly Constituency Stakeholders’ Meeting, held at Green Life Event Center, Oregun. The annual event, which was simultaneously held across all 40 constituencies in the state, serves as a platform for direct engagement between elected representatives and constituents.
Welcoming attendees, Hon. Lawal read the keynote address on behalf of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa. In the address, the Speaker assured Lagosians of the Assembly’s continued commitment to improving lives through robust legislative interventions and inclusive policies.
“The House remains fervently committed to the welfare and well-being of every single Lagosian. We will not rest on our oars until the impact of governance is felt everywhere,” Lawal quoted.
Addressing constituents, Hon. Lawal praised the efforts of the federal government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly the “Renewed Hope” agenda. He described the initiative as a purposeful national recovery plan aimed at economic revitalization, infrastructural growth, and social inclusion for all Nigerians—irrespective of age, gender, or location.
He highlighted several impactful projects recently executed in Ikeja Constituency 1. These include the distribution of 600 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to deserving students, securing employment for six young constituents—four of whom were deployed to the TESCOM office—and the provision of two boreholes commissioned in the Onigbongbo axis to improve water access.
“My office remains open and accessible to every member of this constituency,” Lawal assured, encouraging residents to participate actively in shaping their community’s future.
He also acknowledged the contributions of various federal and state initiatives in promoting sustainable development, technology adoption, environmental resilience, and foreign investment, noting that these pillars are crucial to Nigeria’s long-term growth.
Commending First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s empowerment efforts nationwide, Lawal pointed to initiatives that have provided support to women, children, the elderly, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), adding that such interventions align with the ethos of inclusive governance.
