Rep. Kafilat Ogbara Delivers Free Gas Refill, Food Support in Agboyi-Ketu, Backs Tinubu’s People-First Agenda

Agboyi-Ketu, Lagos — August 16, 2025

In a continued show of grassroots leadership, Honourable Kafilat Ogbara, Member of the Federal House of Representatives for Kosofe Federal Constituency and Chair of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, led another phase of her Free Cooking Gas Refill Initiative in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA on Saturday, providing much-needed energy relief and food support to hundreds of residents.

The outreach, which also included the distribution of staple food items such as rice, semolina, garri, milk, and essential household materials, was met with enthusiastic gratitude from beneficiaries. Residents sang, danced, and offered prayers in appreciation, hailing the effort as a “consistent and practical display of love for the people.”

This marks the third time Hon. Ogbara has brought the gas refill initiative to Agboyi-Ketu, with earlier editions reaching Ikosi, Ojota, and Oworo—covering all major communities within Kosofe Federal Constituency.

Addressing attendees at the event, Hon. Ogbara reaffirmed her commitment to the welfare of her constituents and expressed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s people-centered governance. She encouraged residents to remain hopeful and patient with current reforms, describing them as necessary steps toward long-term national recovery.

“This is our administration,” she stated. “It is listening, responsive, and relentlessly focused on lifting households. The reforms may be tough, but they are purposeful—and already redirecting resources to where people live and work.”

The event drew praise from community stakeholders, market women, youth groups, and artisans who highlighted the consistency of Hon. Ogbara’s interventions. Many noted that her programs go beyond symbolic gestures, providing real, tangible relief in a time of economic pressure.

“MHR Ogbara keeps showing up,” said one beneficiary. “From Agboyi-Ketu to Ikosi, Ojota, and Oworo, she brings both relief and respect. That’s why our prayers follow her.”

As Chair of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, Ogbara has focused on aligning federal policies with local needs, ensuring that national strategies are felt at the household level across Kosofe. Her message to residents emphasized civic engagement and accountability as key to sustaining responsive governance.

The event concluded with a well-organized distribution process and safety checks at all gas refill points, demonstrating a careful blend of compassion and professionalism.

For many in Agboyi-Ketu, the day was more than a distribution exercise—it was a reassurance that government can reach directly into homes and lives. As one resident put it: “Today, our hearths were refueled and our hopes renewed.”
