The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, praised Governor Makinde’s people-driven leadership on Tuesday.
Governance Marked by Progress
While celebrating six years of the administration, Ogundoyin described it as a model for inclusive and effective governance.
Notably, he highlighted achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security. Moreover, he emphasized the governor’s transparent and accountable leadership style.

In addition, he said Makinde’s approach has earned widespread trust from citizens and observers alike.
Infrastructure and Economic Impact
Over the years, the government has completed 335 kilometers of roads. Furthermore, an extra 273 kilometers are under construction.
These projects, according to the Speaker, have boosted economic activity and improved inter-community movement across the state.
Workers’ Welfare and Pension Reform
Equally important, the administration has paid salaries consistently, including a 13th-month salary for five consecutive years.
Besides that, it increased monthly allocations for gratuity payments, offering financial relief to many retired workers.
Security Gains Through Amotekun
Concerning safety, the governor established and expanded the Amotekun Corps. As a result, community-based security improved across the state.
More importantly, residents now experience safer neighborhoods and quicker local security response times.
Education Sector Strengthened
Makinde’s administration employed over 19,500 teachers. Remarkably, 90% of these hires were based on merit.
Likewise, the government secured full ownership of LAUTECH, allowing better funding and academic development.
Better Access to Healthcare
Healthcare also received attention. The government renovated and equipped many primary healthcare centers across the state.
In addition, oxygen plants were established in key hospitals. The state also hired essential health workers to fill long-standing gaps.
Legislative Support Remains Strong
Looking ahead, Ogundoyin assured that the Assembly would continue supporting the Governor’s vision through relevant laws and oversight.
Furthermore, he praised the administration’s responsiveness and commitment to public needs throughout its six-year journey.
