Grassroots Football Tournament Energizes Youth
Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, Federal House Representative for Kosofe, teamed up with the Kosofe Youth Forum and Universal Global Sports Agency Ltd. Together, they hosted a grassroots football tournament to empower local youth. The event took place at Ayedere Nursery & Primary School on May 18, 2025.
Two teams, Omojuwa Estate/Church Avenue and Makinde Street, competed in the final match. However, the true victory was the positive impact on the youth and community.
Focus on Sportsmanship and Inclusion
After the final game, Hon. Ogbara praised all teams for their sportsmanship. She emphasized that “every team is a winner.” In a generous move, she awarded cash prizes to all participants, promoting fairness and inclusion.
“This event is about more than football,” Ogbara said. “It’s about keeping youth off the streets and away from negative influences. It builds discipline, teamwork, and hope.”
A Commitment to Youth Development
Hon. Ogbara promised the tournament would become a regular event. “This is only the beginning,” she stated. “I will continue this initiative to inspire and support our youth.”
