SPREADING JOY: BARR REKIYAH PRESENTS LENTEN/RAMADAN GIFT TO WIDOWS IN ONIGBONGBO LCDA

The council chairperson of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area(LCDA) Barr Rekiyah Olufunke Hassan, in collaboration with the Department Of Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation(WAPA) on Monday presented gifts to christian and muslim widows in Onigbongbo LCDA.

This gesture demostrates the council’s commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the community.

The council chairperson and WAPA distributed gifts to widows in celebration of Lent, and the just concluded Ramadan showcasing interfaith harmony and support.

In her remarks, the chairperson expressed appreciation for the widows”s prompt response to the council’s initiative , emphasizing her priority to assist them.

She promised continued support, stating that seeing widows and being willing to assist them brings her joy.

The supervisor for WAPA Onigbongbo LCDA Hon Kehinde Animashaun offered prayers for the widows , wishing them the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their labor. She encouraged them to remain hopeful and resilient.

The widows were visibly grateful, praying for the chairperson , management, and staff of the council. They also pledged their support for Barr Rekiyah’s future political ambitions, affectionately reffering to her as their daughter.

This event highlights the council’s efforts to foester community cohension and support vulnerable groups.
