Kosofe Women Rise: Hon. Kafilat Ogbara Unveils Complimentary Technology Training for 300 Women in Collaboration with New Horizons Nigeria


In a bold move to bridge the digital divide and uplift women through knowledge, Honourable Kafilat Ogbara, Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, has launched a transformative tech training initiative in collaboration with New Horizons Nigeria. This empowering program is set to train 300 women in essential digital skills—free of charge.

The launch event, held at the New Horizons Nigeria office, was more than just a ceremony—it was a moment of hope and renewed purpose reflecting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renew Hope Agenda Women from across Kosofe Federal Constituency gathered, many of them experiencing the digital world firsthand for the very first time.

Honourable Ogbara, known for her passion for community development and women empowerment, addressed the eager participants with warmth and encouragement. “The future is digital, and women must not be left behind,” she declared. “This training is your gateway to new opportunities—economically, socially, and professionally. Embrace it fully.”

She reminded the participants that this initiative is not just about acquiring tech skills—it’s about owning their future.

Also speaking at the event was the Managing Director of New Horizons Nigeria, who praised Honourable Ogbara for her visionary leadership. He recalled her recent full sponsorship of ICT training for youths in Magodo—a pioneering move in the constituency. “This is the first of its kind in this area,” he noted. “And it’s setting the pace for what true grassroots impact should look like.”
