As Muslims worldwide mark the completion of the 2025 Ramadan fast, the Oyo State House of Assembly has extended its felicitations to the Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr. The Assembly also prayed for Allah’s continued mercy and the sustenance of peaceful coexistence in the state.
In a statement issued by the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Media, and Public Affairs, Hon. Waheed Akintayo, the Assembly expressed gratitude for the successful completion of the month-long fasting period. It noted that Oyo State would continue to uphold the blessings of Ramadan and seek divine guidance for the government’s developmental strides.
The statement reaffirmed the commitment of the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly to fostering love, unity, and stability in governance. It emphasized the legislature’s dedication to enacting and amending laws that promote the welfare of the people, particularly the underprivileged.
“We will continue to ensure unity and progress through mutual cooperation with other arms of government. Our commitment to effective legislation remains unwavering, and we will implement policies that drive development across all zones of the state,” the statement read.
The Assembly also urged Muslims to internalize the lessons of Ramadan—love, kindness, compassion, selflessness, and altruism—for the collective good of society.
“Happy Eid-el-Fitr to our Muslim brothers and sisters. May Allah grant us abundant rewards for our fasting and righteous deeds. May this celebration bring joy and happiness to all,” the statement concluded.
