The Chairperson Of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Barr Rekiyah Olufunke Hassan, launched the distribution of Ramadan palliatives to support the well being of her constituents during the holy month.
The distribution, held on Friday 21st of March began with Ward A Onigbongbo, and Ward B GRA aims to reach all six Wards , with two Wards per day.
The well organized event took place at the council secretariat new hall, where Barr Rekiyah , her team, and management ensured the distribution went smoothly.
Speaking to the journalists, Barr Rekiyah emphasized that the initiative is a token of her administration’s commitment to the welfare of its constituents , especially during Ramadan.
Barr Rekiyah highlighted her administration’s achievements over the past five months including palliative measures, infrastructural projects, and promised more initiatives. When asked about local government autonomy, she noted that with increased resources comes greater responsibility.
Hon Kayode Opayemi, Leader of the legislative arm, praised Barr Rekiyah’s administration, urging constituents to be patient as governance is a gradual process. He encouraged beneficiaries to use the Ramadan period to pray for the nation.
Beneficiaries , including Alhaja Musiliat Folami and Mrs Ayeni Olaide among others expressed gratitude and prayed for Barr Rekiyah and her team , acknowledging her efforts to support the communit
