Oyo Assembly Suspends Saki East Chairman Over Alleged Misconduct

The Oyo State House of Assembly advised the Executive Chairman of Saki East Local Government Area, Hon. Emmanuel Adedokun, to step aside until further notice to allow for an investigation into allegations of gross misconduct leveled against him.

This decision followed a petition submitted to the House on Tuesday by eleven concerned stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Saki East Local Government. The petition accused Adedokun of repeatedly disregarding directives from Governor Seyi Makinde since assuming office.

Ruling on the matter, the Assembly directed the Vice Chairman of Saki East Local Government, Hon. Razaq Adeyemi, to assume office as acting chairman.

Additionally, the secretary to the local government was instructed to step in as vice chairman pending the outcome of the investigation by the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.

The suspension takes immediate effect and will remain in place until further notice.
