Dangote Reduces Petrol Price to N860 per Litre in Lagos

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from N890 to N825 per litre, effective February 27, 2025.

Under the new pricing arrangement, MRS outlets in Lagos will sell petrol at N860 per litre, while other locations will have varying prices: N870 per litre in the South-West, N880 per litre in the North, and N890 per litre in the South-South and South-East. AP (Ardova Petroleum) and Heyden stations will offer the product at slightly higher rates, with Lagos prices at N865 per litre and other regions following a similar price structure.

This marks the second petrol price reduction in February 2025, following a previous N60 reduction earlier in the month. In December 2024, the refinery had also slashed petrol prices by N70.50 per litre during the festive season to provide financial relief to Nigerians.

The latest adjustment is aimed at easing economic pressures ahead of Ramadan while supporting the government’s economic recovery initiatives. Dangote Refinery reassured the public of a steady fuel supply, with sufficient reserves to meet domestic demand and export needs.

The company urged petroleum marketers to support this initiative to ensure that Nigerians benefit from the price reduction.
