Nigeria's Folashade Oluwafemiayo has shattered her own world record in the women's over 86kg Para Powerlifting category, becoming the first Para-athlete in history to lift 166kg. This achievement surpasses her previous world record of 165kg and adds a gold medal to her tally.
Oluwafemiayo's exceptional performance brings Nigeria’s overall medal count at the Paralympics to seven. Her victory follows Nigeria’s Super Eagles’ 3-0 triumph over Benin Republic in their AFCON qualifier match at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
