The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a public warning about the activities of Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries, a faith-based organization led by Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin.
In a statement on Sunday, NAFDAC Director General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, accused the ministry of misleading the public by falsely using NAFDAC’s name to endorse its products. The agency emphasized that none of the items being promoted and sold by the organization are registered with NAFDAC.
“NAFDAC alerts the public to the activities of Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries, which is using the agency’s name to deceive unsuspecting individuals,” the statement read. The ministry has been advertising products such as Miracle Water and Miracle Soap, claiming they offer healing powers and are registered with NAFDAC. However, the agency clarified that these claims are untrue and that it has received numerous petitions from concerned citizens about the deceptive practices.
According to NAFDAC, several products from the ministry, including Miracle & Healing Water, River Jordan Water, and Water of Life, were submitted for verification. Upon investigation, the agency found no records of registration for these products.
NAFDAC’s Delta State Coordinator was tasked with investigating the ministry’s claims. The coordinator visited the ministry’s premises and covertly purchased the Miracle Water. Despite this, the ministry’s officials denied involvement in the production of the miracle products and refused to cooperate with further investigations.
On August 27, 2024, NAFDAC’s Investigation and Enforcement team, along with the Federal Task Force on Counterfeit and Fake Drugs, visited the ministry to collect samples for laboratory analysis. However, the ministry’s officials did not cooperate and failed to respond to follow-up invitations. The ministry later submitted legal documents, claiming a production agreement with Globod Table Water, which NAFDAC had no knowledge of, violating regulations on commercial production.
NAFDAC has since sealed the Globod Table Water factory for its involvement in the illegal production and sale of unregistered miracle products. The agency warned that Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries has shown no intention of complying with investigations.
NAFDAC reiterated that none of the miracle products being sold by the ministry are registered and advised the public to avoid patronizing them. Prof. Adeyeye also urged faith-based organizations to follow regulatory guidelines before producing and selling any products. The agency remains committed to safeguarding public health and will continue investigating the ministry’s activities.
